In light of 26 January being the 2026 World Environmental Education Day and the UN International Day of Clean Energy, CIEDM is holding a local event to support and take part in the two international awareness campaigns. Our event is programmed with the following actions:
- Joining the Sustainable Energy For All's EmPower Growth campaign calling for collective action to electrify the world, mobilize capital where it's needed most and drive a just and inclusive energy transition for all.
- Engaging a cleanup of surfaces of all clean energy equipment and appliances installed in the Arcadia Ecohome, including: (a) rooftop solar PV and solar water heater, and (b) solar lights and solar activated animal repellers in the yards, so as to maintain the efficiency of those solar applications.
- Engaging an online campaign to raise public awareness of the two awareness campaigns. We will review relevant news and social media postings about clean energy development during the Festival period and offer SME, or subject matter expert, comments for posting and spreading.
- Engaging citizen science projects with SciStarter such as the NOVA Energy Lab for using scientific data to design renewable energy systems.
