In light of a cluster of subject related awareness campaigns such as World Rewilding Day to be observed on Friday March 20, which is the 1st day of Spring, Spring Equinox, World Forestry Day, World Planting Day and World Glaciers Day on March 21 when The International Year of Glaciers' Preservation (IYGP) 2025 is officially closing, World Water Day on March 22, National Fix a Leak Week ending on March 22, and World Meteorological Day on March 23, we conservation grassroots at CIEDM are holding a four-day local event with small-group meetups to engage cleanups and landscape rewilding works at the Arcadia Ecohome’s Microforest, a checkup and fixup of any leaks in the irrigation system, and online capacity & network building, and social media campaign actions to support and raise public awareness of and participation in all those global campaigns for preservation of natural environment and its elements. With the Ecohome being located in Southern California, an arid region, and currently experiencing a prolonged heatwave around this two weeks, as a Qualified Water Efficient Landscaper (QWEL), the CIEDM program focus is on continuing to pursue our drought-tolerant rewilding strategies at the densely & bio-diversely planted Microforest occupying the Ecohome yards. With the wild landscapes, the Microforest will be able to maintain and enrich its features as a Certified Wildlife Habitat, Certified Pollinator Habitat, & Certified Monarch Waystation, and to serve as a venue for many educational workshops/tours on wildscaping, attended by local & international visitors.
