We CIEDM nature lovers are extending our participation in the
#WWD2025 campaign for wildlife conservation and habitat restoration to this day, September 4, the National Wildlife Day 2025 in the US. We are taking the same grassroots actions as we did on March 3, including 1) the submission of local event registration to wildlifeday@un.org with a focus on a bird walk and a cleanup at and around the Arcadia Ecohome, a Certified Wildlife Habitat through the weekend of September 5 for reduce stormwater and plastic pollution to our water bodies and habitats; 2) joining as a member of the WILDLABS.net community for contributing our now how and networking/exchanging with other wildlife conservation professionals; 3) the signup of National Wildlife Federation's webinar titled "Climate Disasters: Stories of Resilience & Preparedness" to be held on September 9; 4) an appreciation as a wilder for reading and learning from the LA Times' the Wild section that Angeles National Forest just north of the Ecohome is one of the hot spots in Sothern California for California condors and the Forest's Magic Mountain Wilderness is an area the condors are known to frequent; 5) an action with Surfrider Foundation to send in our voice to California Coastal Commission for supporting the Santa Monica's Living Shorelines Project to create native coastal dune habitat along the shoreline in SoCal; 6) taking the action of "Redesign a Future Without Plastic Pollution" with Ocean Conservancy as an ocean advocate in urging lawmakers to hold plastic producers accountable to make less wasteful products and protect the ecosystems and habitats at our beaches, ocean, & waterways from plastic pollution; and 7) posting a greeting on the National Wildlife Day's Facebook page.
