As a WRD 2025 supporter and partner, we naturalists at Arcadia Home are walking & breathing with the Rainforest Partnership today, June 22, 2025, by holding a noon-time Planet Walk following a morning cleanup of the walk path in the Ecohome's pocket forest that helps our breathe and health. Made of 500+ trees, shrubs, vines & other countable plants on top of numerous uncountable ground covers in diversified species, this “Home-grown National Forest” was the venue where we celebrated the National Forest Week 2025 on June 9-15. With today being also the last day of the Pollinator Week 2025, a citizen science project, during the Planet Walk to take place around noon, we are to engage citizen-science based walkups for close observations of pollinators visiting the Ecohome, a Certified Pollinator Habitat, a Certified Wildlife Habitat and a Certified Monarch Waystation, and to share our encounters and sights with SciStarter and other online platforms. Specifically, during our walk, we pause at such tropical & subtropical plants as bird-of-paradise, giant bird-of-paradise as shown in the picture, and and banana trees, including those growing in our tiny rainforest garden in the front yard of the Ecohome.
