Citizen or community science is a way for the public to get involved in science by incorporating volunteers in different aspects of the research process. For years, the Arizona Game and Fish Department has relied on volunteers to help us carry out our mission to conserve Arizona's diverse wildlife resources. Since April is Citizen Science Month, we decided to host a series of webinars designed for educators to highlight some of these projects that depend on volunteers.
In this session, Angie McIntire, the Department's bat biologist, will be joining us to discuss a recent project in which volunteer observations were used to identify a new bat species in the state. You do not want to miss this.
This FREE webinar will last approximately 45 minutes. It will include a short presentation followed by a Q&A. Then, our educators will briefly highlight related resources you can bring back to your students. Participants will also receive a professional development certificate.
