The Florida Springs Heartland encompasses the Suwannee, Santa Fe, and Ichetucknee rivers and their associated springs in North Central Florida. Manatees use these rivers for winter refuge but can even be seen in the summer. Volunteers submit sightings to an online form managed by the Save the Manatee Club, in partnership with Alachua County Environmental Protection Department.
