**Project Description:**
Join the L.A. BioBlitz Challenge to help map and protect the incredible biodiversity of Los Angeles! From October 1st to 31st, community scientists of all ages are invited to photograph and document local wildlife, plants, and fungi in neighborhoods, parks, hiking trails, and other urban and natural areas using the iNaturalist app. By participating, you’ll contribute critical data that city officials can use to identify key habitats, inform conservation strategies, and ensure the protection of local species. Whether you’re spotting birds in your backyard or discovering wildflowers on a hike, every observation counts!
Los Angeles is part of a global biodiversity hotspot, home to unique ecosystems and a stunning variety of native plants and animals. Your observations, especially in areas with fewer records, help fill important data gaps and enhance our understanding of where different species live and thrive in the city. Together, we can support local conservation efforts and make a positive impact on the future of L.A.'s wildlife and natural spaces.
