Celebrate the launch of the 2025 LA Nature Quest—formerly the LA BioBlitz Challenge!
Now in its fifth year, this citywide project invites everyone to photograph wild plants, animals, insects, and fungi in their neighborhoods throughout October. Each photo helps scientists track and protect the City's incredible biodiversity.
Kickoff Event
Join us at the Griffith Park Visitor Center Hall for a day of outdoor exploration and fun! Discover local wildlife right in the heart of LA and learn how to contribute to this year’s Nature Quest using the iNaturalist app, guided by Griffith Park rangers and experts from the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County.
From scenic trails to breathtaking views, this event is perfect for nature lovers of all ages. Lace up your hiking boots and don’t miss this chance to connect with the great outdoors!
Refreshments:
Light refreshments and water will be provided. Please help us reduce waste by bringing your own water bottle or tumbler.
What to Bring:
Hats, sunglasses, sunscreen, bug repellent, and comfortable walking shoes. Check the weather and dress accordingly.
Parking & Transit:
Parking near the Visitor Center is limited—arrive early or carpool when possible.

Note: This program will be hosted offsite at Griffith Park. Please meet at the Griffith Park Visitor Center Hall located at 4730 Crystal Springs Dr., Los Angeles, CA 90027. Please note that parking is limited. Carpooling is strongly recommended.
