MNAWSC is a project designed to explore the difference in less impaired reference streams as well as provide known data for these reference streams. There are multiple goals for this activity as explained in the purpose section. It is hoped that it will increase attention of and help protect high quality less impaired streams in the Mo. Ozarks and nationally. The project author (Geoff Stillwell) has completed a reasonably thorough review of scientific literature on 'The Urban Stream Syndrome' and has concluded that many current ideas about storm water BMPs, related green strategies, and urban stream restoration may be in error, which increases the importance of understanding and protecting less impaired streams. The project is currently in the planning phase.
