Earth Day Animal Spot-A-Thon, Do NASA Science LIVE! Join us in-person for this hybrid event to learn how to identify animals in trail-camera images and contribute to real wildlife conservation research. We will watch a short NASA Science LIVE! training stream, then practice identifying animals using the computers at Mote SEA. Participants may also bring their own device and join from anywhere.
We will compare this Wisconsin-based trail camera project with our local dolphin spotter program to explore how community science supports research in different ecosystems.
This project uses a network of trail cameras to study wildlife across diverse habitats. By identifying animals and their behaviors in photos, you help generate critical data used by scientists and land managers to understand ecosystems, protect species, and conserve natural resources now and in the future.
