No matter where you are in your project’s lifecycle and whether you are on a custom or shared platform, this conversation with platform developers will give you insights, ideas, or inspiration for your project’s next steps. One of the most significant decisions a project leader makes is where to host their project. In this webinar, we will walk you through some key considerations for choosing the right platform and hear from the six most commonly used web platforms supporting participatory science projects in North America: CitSci.org; Zooniverse; FieldScope; Anecdata; iNaturalist; and GLOBE Observer. While we will spend some time on platform updates and features, we will focus our program on a discussion of the kinds of research and participant experiences best supported by each. This 90-minute program is co-hosted by the Citizen Science Association (heads up: this name is changing*) and the Gulf of Maine Research Institute as part of the NASA Citizen Science Leaders Series. Find out more about the series including archives of past events here: https://nasacitsci.gmri.org Register here for connection details. This event is open to the public. *Over the course of the ‘23-24 academic year CSA will change its name to affirm the broader identity of an Association Advancing Participatory Sciences.
