Get outside and learn about nature! Join a David Suzuki Foundation B.C. coast bioblitz on Sunday, June 11, in conjunction with World Oceans Day June 8.
A bioblitz is a free outdoor get together where a group of volunteers record the species they see.
Join the fun — take part in the Squamish Spit & Estuary BioBlitz! Meet your group leader, Justin, at the end of the parking lot near the spit at 2:00pm. Your group will walk the Squamish Spit & Estuary and photograph and record shoreline wildlife observations using the iNaturalist mobile app.*. Get into the great outdoors, meet people and learn about coastal wildlife where you live!
*iNaturalist lets you photograph wildlife and share where and when your sighting took place. iNaturalist scientists and taxonomic experts will help identify what you see and share the data you collect with the scientific community. Don't own a smartphone? Just take pictures on a digital camera and upload them to iNaturalist on a computer.
