The Citizen Archivist Program and Community Engagement at the National Archives and Records Administration Jill Reilly Corbett will share an overview of volunteer crowdsourcing and community engagement through the Citizen Archivist Program at the National Archives and Records Administration. For more than a decade, Citizen Archivists have enhanced discovery and access to our nation's archival records by deciphering and transcribing handwritten documents and tagging digitized records in the National Archives Catalog. Their combined efforts recently reached 20 million contributions, helping to unlock history and uncover new stories.
