This week-long journey will take you on an exciting and fact-filled journey from the world-famous Jurassic Coast in Lyme Regis to one of England’s major Jurassic hotspots, along the fossil-rich rocks of Yorkshire’s Whitby Coast, and on to an exciting and fact-filled journey down to the world-famous Jurassic Coast in Lyme Regis. You’ll hunt for Jurassic fossils, including ammonites, belemnites, and marine reptiles. Along the way, you’ll learn about the forces that shaped Britain millions of years ago, uncover new details of the recently discovered mega dinosaur footprint site and get to see the original Megalosaurus jaw (the first-ever dinosaur). You will also get a personal, behind-the-scenes tour and sneak-peak of the “Rutland Sea Dragon”.
This trip starts in Lyme Regis where Dr. Lomax has personally arranged for local experts to guide you as you hunt for fossils in the footsteps of Mary Anning before heading to Oxford, where Dr. Lomax joins us to personally accompany our small group. From special museum visits, to fossil hunting in Whitby and so much more, you'll have the opportunity to interact with Dr. Lomax and discuss everything paleontology.
