On Friday, April 22nd, from 10am-noon, come celebrate and help seed the new library garden, learn more about the new Elfrida Seed Library, get free seed, and learn about native plants & pollinator insects. This will be a fun event for all ages, so bring the family!
We'll seed the new raised beds that the Valley Union High School Agriscience Class of 2022 built for the library with wildflowers to attract and sustain native pollinators. Thank you to them, and thanks to Borderlands Restoration Network for the seed for the beds!
Ms. Cristina from the Appleton-Whittell Research Ranch of the National Audubon Society will be there with mounted bugs (and maybe some live ones, too!) to show us so we can learn more about those pollinator insects.
You can pre-order native plants and seeds for your home garden from Borderlands Nursery & Seed, a program of Borderlands Restoration Network, for pick-up at the library during the April 22nd event. To place your order, shop www.borderlandsplants.org and note “Elfrida Library 4/22” in the notes at check-out.
The Arizona Native Plant Society will have free wildflower seeds available at the event as well!
In collaboration with and thanks to:
